Missions
We encourage everyone in our church to be actively involved in at least one mission.
(If you have a passion for a mission that is not listed here, tell us and we will be glad to consider adding it to our missions.)
One Great Hour of Sharing:
This is a global mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA). The fundraising for this mission is conducted in our church during Lent (the six weeks prior to Easter). The money goes to help people effected by natural disasters, hunger, and poverty.
Haiti Relief Mission:
This mission raises money for disaster relief in Haiti.
Duquesne Food Pantry:
Throughout the year we collect money, food, and Christmas presents for the Duquesne Food Pantry. We also sponsor two community fundraising events.
Sycamore Home Visitation:
Those volunteering for this mission visit the residents at Sycamore Personal Care Home for worship services and refreshments.
Community Care Pregnancy Center:
We support the yearly Baby Bottle Drive. Baby bottles are handed out on Mother's Day and people put their spare change in the bottles and bring them back on Father's Day to be donated to the Community Care Pregnancy Center that provide support for women during pregnancy.
College Care:
Notes and cards of encouragement and care packages are sent to the college students that are from our church and youth programs.
Youth Outreach:
Junior & Senior High youth programs meet on Sundays for teenagers in the community.
Kids Club:
Children from the community in grades K-5 are invited to Kids Club on Mondays throughout the school year from 5:30PM-7:00PM.
In addition to the missions already listed, the church gives 10% of the regular offerings to mission- 5% goes to local missions and 5% goes to global missions through the Presbyterian Church, USA.
