Pastor Mary

Mary Yearsley has served as Student Pastor since September of 2008. Prior to September of 2008, Mary served as Christian Ed Director and Elder of the Swissvale Presbyterian Church.

A graduate of Swissvale Area High School, Mary graduated from Robert Morris College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and worked in banking for 30+ years. She earned her Masters of Divinity degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Mary has also completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at the VA on Highland Drive.

Mary volunteers for various agencies – Make-A-Wish Foundation, Family Hospice, Vitas, and The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh (where she holds and cuddles premature and fragile infants). 

In her spare time, Mary enjoys the beautiful creation of the great outdoors. She also enjoys her two mixed labs (Lucy and Ethel) who were adopted at the age of 8 weeks – Katrina puppies!! She loves sports and her favorites are Steelers (and other teams) Football and Penguin Hockey.

Mary’s passion for ministry is youth ministry and pastoral care. She loves to encourage people to continue to work on their precious relationship with Jesus Christ and with others. Mary’s prayer for Duquesne is for them to embrace their unity as they work together to serve our awesome God who reigns over heaven and earth.
